Grand Teton National Park Driving Tour – 4 hours Roundtrip from Jackson

Zola limited me to 1000 characters, and I’d already written something much longer, so welcome to my website!

Drive north from Jackson.  Be sure to stop at the Snake River Overlook (https://goo.gl/maps/FyRk9U8YL3WdPBMt8) where Ansel Adams took his famous photo of the river and the Tetons.  Stay straight past the Moose Junction and enter through the gate at the Moran Junction.  This will take you through valleys with high probability of seeing Bison, Pronghorn Antelope, Elk, and other charismatic megafauna.  After the entrance (fee is $35 per vehicle, or free with NPS pass) stop at the Oxbow Bend pullout on the left (https://goo.gl/maps/aYCxcSEtVcPXCBrP9).  Turn left at Jackson Lake Junction.  Follow the beautiful road to Signal Mountain on your right.  After leaving the highway, the right entrance takes you to the lodge where you can refuel your vehicle, or your bellies if you want.  There’s a nice little beach and marina down the path to the right of the lodge.  Next Head south on the highway about a mile, and turn left for Signal Mountain.  Follow the winding road to the summit where you’ll have amazing views.  Continue driving south on the highway, and enjoy the astounding views.  There are many wonderful short hikes along this route, in case your legs are getting stiff- Jenny Lake is a popular spot to stretch the legs, and also a great visitors center.  As you finish your loop the Craig Thomas center and Dornan’s are great places to stop for interesting information and food respectively.  Next, turn right at Moose Junction and return to Jackson.
